Making life-changing mental health support possible
OPORA's mental health programme has been made possible through the generous support of funders who believe in accessible, culturally-appropriate mental health care for displaced communities.
The Story of Christmas (Registered Charity No. 1145066)
Funded the creation and publication of our children's and teenagers' mental health workbooks, enabling us to distribute 2,000+ books to Ukrainian families across the UK. These trauma-informed resources help young people process displacement, understand their emotions, and build resilience during one of the most challenging periods of their lives.
The National Lottery Community FundFunded the development and delivery of our comprehensive mental health programme, enabling us to build sustainable support infrastructure including drop-in therapeutic groups, our Telegram support channel, educational webinars, and the UK-wide mental health services map. This funding has allowed us to reach over 10,000 Ukrainians with professional mental health support.
International Rescue Committee (IRC)Partnership creating our 31-topic mental health guide and 10-video educational series, bringing clinical expertise and extending our reach across the UK's displaced Ukrainian community. IRC's collaboration ensures our resources meet the highest professional standards while remaining accessible and culturally appropriate.
We're deeply grateful to every funder and partner who has believed in this work and made it possible for thousands of Ukrainians to access the mental health support they need.—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------We're working to expand our mental health provision with specialised support groups for specific communities, resources for younger children (ages 3-6) and extended reach to underserved areas across the UK.
