Moving during your teenage years is a double challenge: young people face both natural changes of adolescence and the need to adapt to a new country, culture, and language.
We’ve created a workbook-comic designed to help your child adapt through a realistic story, everyday situations, and practical self-development tools.
Who is it for?For Ukrainian teenagers aged 13–18 who:- Are adapting to life in the United Kingdom- Struggle with their identity between two cultures-Need emotional support and practical coping tools
Our approachWe believe that a teenager’s greatest superpower is themselves. The book focuses not on “perfect integration”, but on building harmony between two cultures. It helps teenagers understand and navigate their emotions, rather than suppress them, using feelings as a compass for a new life.
What is this book about? The main character, Nick, is a Ukrainian teenager adapting to life in the UK.His visual design — a hoodie with a British emblem next to Ukrainian symbols — reflects the process of developing a bicultural identity that many teenagers experience.Nick is portrayed as a realistic adolescent, with traits typical for this age: self-reflection, creativity, and moments of self-doubt.Through his story, young readers can recognise their own experiences and feel that their emotions are understood and validated.
Structure and methodologyThe workbook is built on the principle of integrated learning through narrative. Each chapter includes:📖 Storyline – realistic scenarios from a teenager’s life: school adaptation, social connections, family dynamics💻 Digital literacy – exploring social media use, online safety, and cyberbullying prevention🔧 Psychological tools – techniques for emotional regulation, cognitive exercises, and self-help checklists📝 Reflective tasks – guided exercises to process personal experiences
This method allows teenagers to learn through identification with the character, not direct instruction — making adaptation and emotional learning more effective.
